Membership Secretary update

Unfortunately, due to a severe COVID-19 infection, Derek Scaysbrook will have to pull out of the Membership Secretary role. Indications are that it will take a long time for Derek to recover. I am sure you all join the NFAS Committee in wishing Derek all the very best in his recovery.

Thankfully, Lynne Harrison who is currently 3Ds Admin and Supplies Officer, has kindly stepped forward to take up the role from Paul Harrison after the AGM on the 21st November (don’t forget to register!). The Committee, and I’m sure all the membership, would like to thank Lynne for stepping into the role. The 3Ds Admin and Supplies Officer roles will be reassigned shortly.

NHS QR code

The NFAS recommend that all clubs, shops and areas where members might congregate, to display official NHS QR code posters at their venue entrances to help support contact tracing.

This means that if people visit your venue, shop, woods or practice area, and later test positive for coronavirus, other app users who were there at the same time may be sent an alert, if local public health teams think this is necessary. The app notification will not mention the name of the location, it will just let app users know that they may have come into contact with coronavirus and provide them with public health advice.

AGM Announcement

The 48th Annual General Meeting will be held online on Saturday 21st November, 10am start.

Due to the current pandemic the 48th NFAS AGM will be held remotely, using video conferencing technology. Since the last AGM, the Committee has been looking into providing a remote solution for AGM attendance in conjunction with a physical meeting to reach as many members as possible. It is not possible to predict the government guidelines that will in place in November and the Committee wishes to keep members as safe as possible, therefore has taken the decision to hold the 2020 AGM remotely.

Register your intent to join the AGM by emailing General.Secretary@nfas.net with your name and NFAS number by Friday 14th November. Only NFAS members will be permitted to join the meeting. An email invitation will be sent by the following Wednesday with a link to the meeting. As this is the first time the NFAS has held an AGM by video conferencing, attendance is expected to be high therefore questions by attendees to the Committee to be received by Thursday 13th November. It will be possible to ask questions on the day however, please be aware that depending on the uptake, we may not be able to read and answer every question submitted after this date.
