  • Pines Park Archers March Shoot. We are very sorry, but due to the Forestry coming in to our wood to do the clearing next week, we are going to have to cancel the March shoot. We did know that the work was going to be done but were hoping that we could get the shoot in first before they started. Unfortunately, as they are starting next week and we don't know how long it will take, and then we would have to re-lay the course, we cannot guarantee that the course will be ready in time, so the shoot is off. Apologies to all who have already booked in, and to those who were looking forward to it. On the bright side, when you all come in September, we will have a completely new course to challenge you as practice for the nationals..........

  • Toad Hollow have moved the date of the night to Saturday 3rd March, hopefully this means that the ground had dried out a little to aid walking at night! Assembly at 6.30pm, there will be the usual Toad catering including soup. We are hoping for bunkhouse accommodation, please request at time of booking. Entry is £7 per person to be prebooked and prepaid please to Paul and Juliet Harrison, 91 Sycamore Avenue, Bishopsmead, Tavistock PL19 9NL, cheques made payable to Toad Hollow.   • Sabden Fold Archers have now got their own Facebook page, for those who have facebook search us out "Sabden Fold Archers" and click to "like" us and you will automatically receive any updates on whats happening at Sabden.   • Paget de Vesey Company of Archers will be holding their Open Shoot as usual on 19th February. However, we have had an increased rent demand from the Woodlands Camp: originally, it was to be £900 (nine hundred pounds!) but we managed to beat them down to 'only' £400. This means that in order to show a profit - which pays for the rent on our normal shooting ground - we will regretfully have to increase shooting fees for adults to £7. Juniors will still be £3 and Cubs will again be free. The other change that we will be making, is that instead of stopping the competition for lunch, we will be shooting through, and archers can stop to eat when they pass either the main clubhouse or the half way house, or, preferably, both!

  • Noak hill two day shoot 17th 18th March 2012
    So, the countdown to our inaugural 2 day open shoot marches on and with just over 2 months left, we are now over half full so if you want to join the fun please do make sure to get your bookings in soon to avoid disappointment!! You can register on-line and if you have already entered then please check that your details are correct. Any problems or changes please let us know via bookings@noakhillarchers.co.uk. All shooting styles are welcome including our crossbow-wielding friends and we will be presenting trophies to all first placed archers so plenty to play for!

  • Longbow Heritage - We now have a group on facebook, and I'm trying my hand at building a web site...
    We are holding a friendly at Shackleford (home of JJJ) on 26th Feb. Food, inc steak sarnies, all day. This is a 2x18 limited number wooden arrow shoot on butts and faces. Please phone or email for a place.
    Jim's Jungle Jaunt is 30th June and 1st July. Forms now available from carolarchery@tesco.net or longbowheritage@group.facebook.com. Book early to avoid disappointment. (NO entries on day). All classes except crossbow, (sorry, not allowed them.) Don't forget the steak dinner Sat evening. Watch this space for Sat night theme.
    I have sourced some new foam for our cut-out 2Ds and will gradually change our old foam for the new stuff over the next few shoots. This stuff you can get your arrows out of!!
    LH are holding a wooden arrow shoot on 20th May near Romsey in Hampshire. Mixed hand-painted/printed faces and some 2Ds. This is a new venue with plenty of camping space. Entry forms forms from above emails. A friendly is being held here on the Saturday afternoon, for those who want to make a weekend of it. Steak dinner as usual Sat eve. Bar and family room on site. LH have also been offered woods just south of Dorking in Surrey and possibly Luton in Herts. Watch this space for more details. (If we have enought time to do them all, as Mick getting a new hip on 20th Jan).
